Becca Hoback

Becca Hoback, Nashville, Tennessee merkezli bir serbest hareket sanatçısı, performansçı, işbirliği ve koreografidir.

Becca, Enactor Productions'i, vücudunuzla ilişki kuran bir insan olmanın ne anlama geldiğini çözüme kavuşturan eserler yaratmak için geliştirdi. Ana Maria Lucaciu, Ben Green, Roy Assaf ve Ariel Freedman ile birlikte ilk Enactor performans programını kurdu. Kurat, işbirliği yaptı ve koreografe ettiği solo çalışmaları OZ Arts Nashville, İstanbul Fringe Festival, SOLOCOREOGRAFICO’S Torino, Frankfurt ve Friedrichshafen dans gösterileri, SOLO Dance Ankara, Alter Ego Uluslararası Tiyatro Festivali, Brussels Dance Contest, Arts on Site NYC, Kindling Arts ve Tennessee Women’s Theatre Project’de sergilenmiştir.

2020 yılında, solo çalışması için Tennessee Sanat Komisyonu Bireysel Sanatçı Bursunu aldı. Becca, Nashville Scene’in 2022 “Best of Nashvill” ödülünde “En İyi Hareket Sanatçısı” seçimi aldı. Becca, SOLOCOREOGRAFICO Torino 2022’de seyirci ödülünü aldı.

Becca yerel Nashville sanatçıları ile aktif bir işbirliği yapar ve düzenli olarak kendi bağımsız projelerini başlatmak için arkadaşlarına yaratıcı ve idari yardım eder. New Dialect'in kurucusu üyesi, şirkette performansçı, outreach atölye ekibinin lideri, topluluk ve şirket sınıfı öğretmeni ve sanatsal direktörün koreografik asistanı olarak yer aldı. Daha önce Nashville Ballet 2 ve Montgomery Ballet ile çalıştı. Becca, North Carolina School of the Arts'da eğitim aldı.

Is this good? is a collaboration with choreographer, Ana Maria Lucaciu. The everyday meanderings of an unknown woman are interrupted by the call to present, to be in the spotlight, to entertain. What begins as an introduction to the audience becomes a journey through self-realization and doubt, heightened by the awkwardness of being so visible. The original straightforward question for the critic becomes an internal struggle that must be answered and, ultimately, embraced or rejected

Offering is a collaboration with choreographer, Ben Green. Taking the form of a practice in its performance, Offering explores the role of rituals in our lives: how the intimate and vulnerable behavior of ceremony can cleanse and renew. It delves into relationship with the inanimate, and sifts through phases of reverence, playfulness, absurdity, and rawness.

Reprise is a dance-theater solo exploring absence, vulnerability, nostalgia, and delusion as a coping mechanism. The work’s disrupted sound score and minimal set invites the audience into the character’s chaotic train of thought and journey through childhood memories.
